Here’s a list of links to websites that I personally have used or think are interesting or contain a good source of information.

News

  • BBC News – This links to a great source of news provided by the beeb, spans a variety of areas such as business, education, technology and entertainment.
  • The Guardian – Many detailed articles can be found here on numerous current events from around the globe.
  • FT.com – Visit this website for up to date financial news and learn all about the current state of the economy.

Productivity

  • Lifehacker – Contains productivity tips and technology/tools to aid you in being effective and efficient in your personal and professional life.

Social

  • Livejournal – I spend a great deal of time on this social networking site which has a large user base. It’s main selling point is its communities which bring people of similiar interest together.
  • Facebook – Yes everyone has one it was a brilliant idea when it was first conceptualised as a way for university/college students to interact with one another but the opening up of the site to everyone and the introduction of 1000’s of apps has dimmed my interest in this social networking site.
  • Twitter – The mini-blog as its been called, you have a hundred and forty words to say something witty or just announce what your doing to the world. This simplistic idea has really take off in the past year and with celebrities such as Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross amongst its users it’s popularity looks set to increase.
  • LinkedIn – The primary social network for the professionals, who use this site to build up business contacts.

Sport

  • West Ham United FC’s Official Site – My football team’s official website, updated with news and vital information even if it is a little cluttered for my tastes.
  • KUMB.com – One of the most popular sites for West Ham United fans with a particular active forum.
  • BBC Sport – The section of the BBC’s news site thats dedicated to all things sport containing the not very useful 606 forums, but I do love the live texting section that takes place during live sporting events.

Technology

  • CNet – News and reviews of various tech gadgets.
  • T3 – No this is not a site all about the third and utterly forgettable terminator 3 movie but infact a site containing the latest technology news & gadget reviews.

Webdesign & Webhosting

  • CSS Play – A great place on the web for experiemental CSS styles and ideas.
  • DreamHost – Where claireedwards.net is currently hosted! A webhost that caters to the needs of a novice and an expert.
  • WordPress – The Content Management System (CMS) I use to maintain claireedwards.net.
